The students of the Smolensk State University of Sports are the winners and leaders of the Russian Winter Student Athletics Championship

On March 7–8, the Winter Russian Student Athletics Championship was held in Tula, bringing together the strongest athletes from leading universities across the country. The students from the Smolensk State University of Sports demonstrated a high level of preparation, winning prizes and achieving consistent results in various disciplines.

The team achieved the most success in sprinting and strength events.

In the 60-meter race, Egor Stavnoy took the bronze medal (6.84), setting a personal best. Evgeny Sivakov confidently advanced to the final and took 5th place. Egor Sinitsyn also participated in the event, achieving a time of 7.079.

In the shot put sector, the athletes of the Smolensk State University of Sports confirmed their status among the strongest sportsmen.

The silver medalists were Lolita Lapitskaya (14.54) and Evgeny Davydchenkov (17.41). Daria Smirnova finished the competition in the top ten.

In the jumping events, the team also performed at a high level.

Igor Bykov won the bronze medal in the triple jump (14.66). In the long jump, Maria Prokoshchenkova (8th place) and Vasilisa Kozlovskaya (13th place) were among the best. Igor Bykov and Alexander Kurtov competed in the men’s event.

In the middle-distance running disciplines, the athletes of the Smolensk State University of Sports showed stable results, confirming their high level of functional training. The university was represented in the 400-meter and 1,500-meter races.

According to the results of the team competition, the team of the Smolensk State University of Sports took 5th place among 35 Russian universities, and 2nd place among specialized sports educational institutions.
